Nice plugin, but like another person here, the height function (splitting into columns) doesn't seem to work for me. I am guessing this hasn't been updated yet, is that right? If it has, then I must have some other issue.

Thanks.

I've been using Visual Categories as a navigation tool, and it's been working perfectly. Yesterday, though, I started getting the following error every time I try to save the settings:

Warning: ksort() expects parameter 1 to be array, null given in /data/14/1/161/83/1324898/user/1419546/htdocs/site/wp-content/plugins/visual-categories/viscats.class.php on line 346

Warning: implode() [function.implode]: Argument must be an array in /data/14/1/161/83/1324898/user/1419546/htdocs/site/wp-content/plugins/visual-categories/viscats.class.php on line 347

Any thoughts on why this would be happening?

@brad

Read this: http://codex.wordpress.org/Category_Templates

It helped me a great deal with "detect if it is on a category page, and ONLY list subcategories from the parent category it is in "

Plugin works great !

Hey Will,

Great plugin! Is it possible to modify to have it detect if it is on a category page, and ONLY list subcategories from the parent category it is in? Basically I need something that has descriptive subcategories listed in a parent category, that include images and category description.

Thanks!

Hello Dennis from France. I'm very perfect because I'm not from France :-)~

To answer your questions, no, I haven't worked on the multiple instances feature. After working on this nonstop for months and releasing 1.6.0, I got tired of it and stopped development. However, I'll begin work on the 1.6.1 which will establish 2.9 compatibility.

I like your hide/unhide idea. I've used that sort of thing extensively in the past. I should add ID attributes to the LI and A tags to facilitate that.

Hello Pamela from November. You can add the following to a template:

<pre lang="php"><?php if (function_exists(get_visCats)) get_visCats(); ?></pre>

Please see the "Installation and Setup" section for instructions.

Hey Sascha P,

Thank you for bringing that to my attention. I've fixed the issue and will package and upload once I've tested with 2.9.

HI there,

the plugin is great. Came across it when I looked to display the categories in 2 columns. Unfortunately that side of the plugin does not seem to work on WP 2.8.6. Any chance of getting it to work?
Many thanks,
Sascha

Hello from France,
Congratulations for the very good job you've done.
Did you recently work on multiple instance plugin, and have you planned thomething about this ?
May I suggest you to look around the possibility for the categories to collapse and expand onmouseover or onclick.
Thank you again.
If I can help you to test or to develop something, it's OK
Excuse for my bad english (I'm french, nobody's perfect !).

Does this plug in work only as widget in the side bar? I would like it to use it in the main section of my website.
