Names Twitter Away

Justin Wolfers proffers an idea while talking about baby names that I myself have been wondering and expecting to soon see.  Wolfers discusses a paper where the thesis states that as fast as baby names gain popularity, they just as quickly fade.  (Say goodbye to all future “Rylee-s,” as they will have become “Rachels” once again.)

The idea that I was glad to see and expect to see come to fruition:

O.K., names are interesting and all, but is there a broader business lesson here? I think there may be. And I’m betting that none of us will be talking about Twitter in a few years.

I mean, 160 characters?  Really?  That’s what you have going for yourself?  Oy.
